The cloud studio at start.appblips.com has two plans, Plus and Pro. Plus starts with a 3-day free trial. Self-hosting AppBlips and the Desktop App are free and have no plan limits.

Plans

Prices are in US dollars, plus any applicable taxes. Plus and Pro have the same features. Pro is for heavy building: it includes twice Plus’s monthly usage.

Free trial

New accounts start with a free 3-day trial of Plus. When you sign up, the studio shows the plans: click Start free trial and enter a card on Stripe’s checkout page.
  • You aren’t charged during the trial. Stripe checks that the card is valid when the trial starts.
  • When the trial ends, Plus starts automatically and your card is charged $12. Plus then renews monthly until you cancel.
  • To avoid the charge, cancel before the trial ends. Click Plus trial in the studio’s header, then Cancel trial. You keep the trial until it ends, and you aren’t charged.
  • The trial has a smaller usage allowance than a paid month. If you use it up, click Plus trial in the header, then Start Plus now. This ends the trial, charges for Plus today, and gives you the full monthly allowance straight away.
  • There is one free trial per person and per card. If an account or card has already had a trial, Plus starts as paid straight away.
Pro has no trial. You can subscribe to it directly.
Without a trial or a plan, you can still sign in, open and download your projects, and your published apps stay online. Building and Ask mode need a plan.

Usage

Usage is the amount of AI work your prompts take. Each message you send in Build or Ask mode uses some of your allowance. A large app or a multi-page website uses more than a quick tweak, because there is more to write, check, and fix.
  • Click-to-edit changes use no usage. Editing text or styles directly in the preview doesn’t call the AI.
  • A build that has started always finishes. If you reach your allowance partway through a build, the build completes.
  • Failed requests aren’t counted. If a request fails on our side, its usage is handed back.
  • Your own AI key isn’t counted. If you add your own provider key in Settings → AI, requests made with it don’t use your allowance. Your provider bills you for them instead.

When you run out

After you reach your allowance, new prompts wait until it resets at the start of your next billing period. The studio tells you when that is. To keep building sooner, you can:
  • On the trial: click Start Plus now to start Plus and its full allowance today.
  • On Plus: switch to Pro for twice the usage.

Managing your plan

Click your plan in the studio’s header (Plus or Pro) to see your usage this period and when your plan renews. Click Manage billing and invoices to open Stripe’s billing portal, where you can:
  • Switch between Plus and Pro. Moving up to Pro takes effect straight away, and you pay the prorated difference. Moving down to Plus takes effect at your next renewal. Switching plans during the free trial ends the trial.
  • Update your card and download invoices.
  • Cancel. You keep your plan until the end of the period you’ve paid for, then your account has no plan. Apps you’ve published stay online, and you can always open and download your projects.

Payments and refunds

Plus and Pro are billed monthly in advance through Stripe. AppBlips never sees or stores your card number. If a renewal payment fails, Stripe retries it and you keep your plan in the meantime. If the payment still can’t be collected, your subscription ends. Update your card under Manage billing and invoices to avoid this. Except where the law requires otherwise, payments aren’t refundable, including for partly used periods or unused allowance. Deleting your account from Settings cancels your trial or subscription immediately, without a refund for the rest of the period. See the Terms of Service for the full billing terms.

Self-hosting is free

AppBlips is open source under the MIT License. Run it with Docker or from source, or use the Desktop App, and connect your own AI key. There are no plans or limits when you self-host: you only pay your AI provider for what you use.
